Full-day adventure on Jebel Rum

Explore Jebel Rum on a full-day mountain adventure in Wadi Rum, Jordan. This challenging route combines hiking, scrambling, exposed mountain terrain, and abseiling (rappelling), with spectacular views across the Wadi Rum desert.

Jebel Rum is one of the highest mountains in Jordan and is a fantastic choice for experienced hikers and adventurous travelers who enjoy long mountain walks and scrambling.

The route

The adventure takes approximately one full day. We start early in the morning, preferably before sunrise, especially for groups of more than five people. Starting early gives us enough time to complete the route comfortably, as the abseiling (rappelling) sections can take time.

The route includes approximately 12 abseils (rappels). Some are short, around 5 meters, while others can reach approximately 40 meters.

Some sections on the way to the summit require technical protection and rope work. This can be required on different routes to the summit, including the Thamudic Route. An experienced local Bedouin mountain guide is therefore essential for this adventure.
